Home window cleaning
Interior and exterior glass for Christchurch homes — panes, frames and sills given a proper going-over, room by room.
Residential glass
Windows that make the whole house feel brighter
There is nothing quite like the moment freshly cleaned glass disappears. The lounge feels bigger, the garden looks closer, and the winter sun reaches that much further into the room. Home window cleaning is the bread and butter of Sign of the Squeegee: a careful, room-by-room clean of the glass in your Christchurch house, inside and out.
Christchurch homes give glass a proper workout. Nor'westers drive dust into every track, spring pollen films over anything facing the garden, and south-facing panes grow a faint green haze through the damper months. A good residential clean deals with all of it — not just a wipe of the obvious panes, but the frames, sills and edges where the grime actually lives.
What a home clean covers
Each visit starts with a walk-around of the place so nothing gets missed — ranch-sliders onto the deck, the high kitchen window above the bench, the bathroom frosted glass, and the front windows that greet everyone who walks past. Interior panes are cleaned with care around curtains, blinds and furniture, and exterior panes are scrubbed and squeegeed, including the frames and sills that catch spiders, dust and dead insects through the seasons.
Sliding doors get particular attention, because they cop handprints at exactly adult and toddler height. French doors, louvers and older timber-sash windows are handled gently, with the detailing cloth rather than force, so putty lines and seals are never disturbed.
How the clean unfolds
Frames and sills are wiped first so loose dirt cannot wash back onto finished glass. Then each pane is scrubbed with solution, pulled clean with the squeegee in overlapping passes, and detailed at the edges and corners. Finally every window is sighted against the daylight — the honest test no artificial light can fake — and any pane that is not streak-free gets done again before pack-up.
Who it suits
Owner-occupiers wanting the place gleaming, renters sprucing up before an inspection, landlords preparing between tenancies, and anyone who has simply looked through the same hazy panes for one winter too long. As a rough guide, most Christchurch homes stay bright with a clean twice a year, commonly in spring and autumn — road-facing or tree-sheltered glass may want it more often.
